New records of mollusc species for Slovakia during the last 25 years

Tomáš Čejka, Libor Dvořák & Michal Horsák

The latest comprehensive work dealing with Slovak mollusc fauna is a monograph of M. J. Lisický, which summarizes all published and collection data from 1945 to 1982. Since that time, other 14 species have been recorded: Theodoxus fluviatilis (Linnaeus 1758), Potamopyrgus antipodarum (Gray 1843), Bythinella metarubra Falniowski 1987, Columella aspera Waldén 1966, Lucilla singleyana (Pilsbry, 1890), Oxychilus hydatinus (Rossmässler 1838), Deroceras panormitanum (Lessona & Pollonera 1882), Deroceras turcicum (Simroth 1894), Arion lusitanicus Mabille 1868, Sinanodonta woodiana (Lea 1834), Corbicula fluminea (O. F. Müller 1774), Sphaerium solidum (Normand 1844), Pisidium hibernicum Westerlund 1894 and Pisidium globulare Clessin 1873. Six species (P. antipodarum, L. singleyana, D. panormintanum, A. lusitanicus, S. woodiana and C. fluminea) belong to non-native species and, excluding of L. singleyana also to more or less invasive species; the remaining eight species belong to non-invasive European molluscan fauna and in some cases they were overlooked native species.
